Felch is my latest desktop computer. I built it in September of
2004 and tried to shoot for the most bang for the buck. There was
a lot of change going on in the computer industry, so I had to decide
what I really wanted to do. PCI-E was just going mainstream, and
Intel did not yet have the best options available on a motherboard
quite yet. I also didn't want to go AMD, as I am an Intel
enthusiast and have always had great luck with their products. I
also did not want to spend a lot on old technology. Not to
mention the 6800GT had just gone on the market and was only available
in AGP flavor. I ended up buying a nice case, Leadtek card, new
motherboard, and a used CPU. I chose the 2.4C since I wanted a
solid overclocker, and was on the cheaper end of hte market due to it's
"lower" mega/gigahertz rating. I also had a 1.6A which is also
one of those magical overclockers, and thought it would be nice to have
both. I bought one additional stick of memory and kept using one
I already had along with the audio card, video capture card and hard
drives. Later on my main drive crashed, so I upgraded those, and
then bought new memory in December of 2005 at a day after christmas
sale.
